First Friends Church in Salem, OH traces its history back to the year 1804. Since that first meeting of believers in a small log home, First Friends has undergone significant changes. However, no matter the changes in building, location, or congregation, First Friends has remained loyal to the vision of worshipping God through Christ and leading others to His saving grace.

Today, First Friends is a part of the Evangelical Friends Church - Eastern Region. Our typical Sunday morning includes a multi-faceted worship service that includes a blend of contemporary and traditional music, special music from people within our fellowship, a personal time of reflective silence, and a message that's firmly rooted in Scripture but presented in a way that makes sense in the world today.

First Friends is also home to a wide variety of small groups. These groups cover a wide variety of activities; from Bible studies to scrapbooking to dodgeball. Nearly every age and personality is represented in one group or another. These groups provide the fellowship that is an integral part in a growing Christian life.
